The Isuzu Rodeo was introduced in the 1991 model year and the Honda Passport was introduced in 1994. Frontal airbags for both the driver and passenger became standard partway through the 1995 model year. Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement wasn't well controlled. During the crash, the seat back moved forward far enough that the head restraint hit the back of the dummy's head. The dummy's torso rotated so that the back of its head almost hit the bottom of the window frame. Both legs jammed against the instrument panel. The left knee hit a sharp edge of the panel, producing a gash in the dummy's vinyl "skin." Also, there was far too much rearward movement of the steering wheel.
