Cleaning up at the West Valley Open House. I've been waiting forever to see one of these trucks in action, and I thought I was going to have to ride my bike like another 15 miles or something back to Venice. Anyways, this did it for me. These are the trucks that replaced the old GMC/ Wayne TomCats. This truck here was the same truck they were doing rides in and the reason the packer would randomly stop sometimes is because the driver of the truck would shift into drive and the packer/tipper won't function while the truck is in drive. This truck is a New Way Diamondback on an Isuzu N-Series chassis with a Perkins US/ European Combo Tuckaway tipper. This tipper is very hard to control; slowly and gently is the key.
